A sad depiction of divorce.  The artist describes the pic: “We look pretty happy We look pretty normal, let’s go back to that In our family portrait we look pretty happy  Let’s play pretend, act like it goes naturally. Divorce is something no kid wants to go through.”

Note the vast differences in the facial expressions in the ‘divorce’ pics on the top row.  The dolls face reveals cuts and stitches indicating the emotional hurt and pain this child suffered in the divorce.

Sadness

Sometimes ‘leaving’ one parent is difficult for young ones.  A child is trying to adjust to not having full access to both parents.  A very emotional experience for a child.  Parents working together can make the exchange less emotional.  I hope someone is validating this child’s  emotional needs on an immediate and long term basis.

WOW!!!!! A very revealing pic!  The focus on the face.  The tears,  Seeing the parents reflection in the eyes of the child is quite riveting.  An unfortunate experience of divorce.

A very sad depiction of divorce!  There is a faint outline of a figure in the darkness.  Excellent representation of divorce from the child’s perspective!!!!!!

The artist comments: “When parents divorced and one parent goes away, the child suffers most because it can not understand why this is happening. It usually loses his unburdened childhood … and must take farewell of them. (the bunny represent the childhood that threatens to go out of the darkness of the parents!)

Love Like in a Fairytale??

Artist shares their experience with divorce:  “Divorce somehow pulls the rug out from under me – like in my drawing (the heart becomes black and breaks and the black from the heart, flows into the child), and from both sides dark thoughts about love and the other sex reached me – like in my drawing (the black from the parents hands which hold the child´s hands flows into the child), before I was full of dreams – dreams like fairytales – (in the drawing the colours in the child). And that the child is broken is a symbol for the break-up of the child´s world, but also a little critic to all divorced parents: Divorce destroys always a bit of a child and often the parents fight to have the child, but without regard to the child itself!”
